Police: Baron Geisler sober at time of accident

Controversial actor Baron Geisler found himself in the news again after his sport utility vehicle (SUV) collided with a 14-wheel truck in Pasig City Tuesday morning.
The police said that the actor, who has figured in several controversies in the past for being drunk and disorderly, appeared to be sober at the time of the accident.
The collision occurred as Geisler was driving his black Toyota Fortuner (WKO-654) on Imelda Avenue, Karangalan Village, Gate 3, in Barangay (village) Manggahan around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to Insp. Roberto Garcia, Pasig police investigation unit chief, Geisler said he was making a U-turn when the oncoming Cainta-bound truck—which he described as speeding—driven by Exvedyl Bayo hit the right side of his SUV.
Bayo, however, belied the 33-year-old actor’s statement and blamed him for the accident, saying Geisler turned suddenly into his lane without any warning.
On photo-sharing site Instagram, Geisler said he was unhurt but his companion identified only as Eurie suffered a “minor contusion on her right temporal lobe.”
In the same post, the actor said he was “very disappointed at the response” of the police, adding that he waited for over an hour but no investigator showed up.
Garcia, however, said they attended to Geisler’s case as soon as they could, noting that it was resolved by 6 a.m. He declined to further comment on the matter, adding only that both parties were still waiting for an assessment of the damage sustained by their vehicles before filing charges against each other.
In July, videos of Geisler challenging bouncers in a club in Pampanga province to a fight went viral. Reports said that the actor was refused entry because he was “very drunk” although his manager blamed the club for the incident. In November 2012, the police arrested Geisler in Quezon City after the drunken actor allegedly took some bread from the store of his neighbor Raymond de la Rosa and threw them away.
According to the police report, De la Rosa scolded the actor who reacted by smashing a plastic chair against the store’s screen door and punching De la Rosa.
Geisler voluntarily underwent rehabilitation for alcoholism in 2011.
