Aquino appoints deputy secgen of Asean as new CSC chair

President Benigno Aquino III has nominated a new chairperson for the Civil Service Commission (CSC), Malacanang said Tuesday.
“President Aquino has nominated Alicia Dela Rosa-Bala as Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) for a term expiring on 02 February 2022 vice Francisco T. Duque III,” Communication Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said.
Bala was recently deputy secretary general of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Socio-Cultural Community.
She served as Undersecretary at the Department of Social Welfare Development, where she held various position throughout the years, and has been a Career Executive Service Officer (CESO) since 1999.
She earned her degree in social work from the Centro Escolar University and finished graduate studies, also on social work, in the University of the Philippines.
