Cop dies, 2 others hurt in Nueva Ecija accident
SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija — A policeman was killed while his two companions were hurt when their motorcycle collided with a truck in Barangay Castellano here on Monday morning, police said.
A police report said the victims – Police Officers 1 Norwel Venancio, Rachelle Carugda and Tiffany dela Cruz – were traveling along Maharlika Highway when their motorcycle was hit by an Isuzu Forward truck driven by Librado Ariola, 23, of Dipaculao, Aurora, at 2 a.m.
Venancio, 29, of Sta. Cruz, Manila, died on the way to the Gonzales General Hospital here. Carugda and Dela Cruz were being treated in the same hospital.
The victims are trainees of the Jaen town police.
Ariola is facing a complaint of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and double serious physical injuries.
