Light to moderate rains are expected over parts of Mindanao, the state weather bureau said Thursday.

An intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) or a merge of winds from different directions that could potentially form low pressure areas is prevailing in Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Davao Region, Caraga and Northern Mindanao.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to east will prevail over Luzon and coming from the northeast to northwest over the rest of the country.
