Cancer-stricken Santiago now feeling better

SENATOR Miriam Defensor Santiago on Monday posted a video of her walking to let the public know she is feeling well.

In the video posted on her Facebook account, Santiago could be seen wearing a white shirt and red jogging pants while taking a stroll in a residential area.

Santiago also thanked Filipinos for their prayers.

“Thanks to your prayers and kind thoughts, I continue to feel better. I can now walk two kilometers every day. See you all soon! #MiriamFight,” she said.

Last July 2, she marked the first year since she publicly announced that she has stage 4 lung cancer by asking for a “miracle.”

She urged her supporters to pray for her and other cancer patients.

The senator has earlier said that she intends to finish her term under medical qualified leave.

Despite being on leave, Santiago has filed the most number of bills in the 16th Congress–filing 1,007 bills and resolutions, as of December 17, 2014.

In earlier interviews, she said that she is doing well under medication as she is taking a “magic pill” to combat her disease.
