Gov’t work in Metro Manila suspended on Thursday

Malacañang on Thursday afternoon suspended government work in Metro Manila because of bad weather.

Memorandum Circular no. 78 was released to media at 2:44 p.m.

“Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and in view of the inclement weather brought about by the southwest monsoon, enhanced by Typhoon ‘Falcon,’ work in government offices in the National Capital Region, is hereby suspended starting 3:00 p.m. today, 09 July 2015,” Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa said in the memorandum.

Ochoa, however, said agencies involved in “the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/ response to disasters and calamities, and/or performance of other vital public services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.”
