Cops nab nine ‘wanted’ persons in Bicol
LEGAZPI CITY, Albay, Philippines — The Philippine National Police’s (PNP) intensified campaign against wanted persons led to the arrest of nine fugitives in various parts of Bicol during the past two days, the Bicol police spokesperson said Wednesday.
“The arrest of nine wanted persons is in line with the PNP PATROL Plan 2030, where under its ‘Target Output Policy,’ police units in various provinces, cities and towns in Bicol were required to serve local court warrants of arrest to people facing criminal cases,” said Chief Insp. Malu Calubaquib, chief of the police public information office in Bicol.
Quoting a police report, she said the arrested persons on July 6 and 7 were charged with offenses ranging from rape to illegal gambling.
She said the arrested persons were currently detained at the various police detention centers where they were originally detained.
Except for the one involved in a rape case and the person charged with damage to property, all the other accused were given the option to post bail ranging from P10,000 to P180,000 for their temporary liberty, she said.
Arrested in Sorsogon province were Francisco Brasero, 62, of Magallanes town, charged with illegal gambling; Jenelyn Revera Haboc of Sorsogon City, facing robbery; and Vicente Fortades, 20, of Casiguran, who has been accused of rape.

In Camarines Sur, Gleciero Requijo, 54, of Bato town was charged with frustrated homicide; Berlie Tulay, 28, of Pamplona, is facing reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property with no bail recommended; Jaar Palean, 18, of San Jose, for child abuse; Jesus Fernandez, 38, of Goa, for theft; and Pedro Pantilla, 55, of Presentacion town, for illegal logging.
