ACTING Makati City Mayor Romulo “Kid” Peña Jr. is acting like a “dictator,” defying a city council’s order that approved the free shuttle service for MRT riders in Makati City, the camp of suspended Mayor Junjun Binay said on Monday.

Binay’s spokesman, Joey Salgado, said the decision to suspend the free shuttle service for MRT passengers was proof that the Liberal Party (LP) leadership was “insensitive” and incompetent (palpak). Peña is an LP member.

He said the Department of Transportation and Communications being headed by Secretary Joseph Abaya, a ranking LP officer, tried to stop the service when it was first implemented.

“Now, the Vice Mayor who is an LP member has shut down the service simply because it was initiated by a Binay.

To repeat, the job of the executive is to implement ordinances approved by the City Council. He is a vice mayor so he should know that,” Salgado added.
