Suspected big time drug pusher in Cebu City falls

CEBU CITY – A suspected big time drug pusher was arrested on Saturday after police recovered at least P3.4 million worth of illegal drugs during a raid on his house in Barangay Alaska Mambaling here.

Roberto Rapuela, 32, would be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and illegal possession of firearms at the city prosecutor’s office on Monday.

Supt. Rex Derilo, Police Regional Office in Central Visayas chief for Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG), said at least 290 grams of shabu was found during a raid on two houses owned by Rapuela about 6 a.m. on Saturday.

The drugs seized have a street price of P3,422,000 at P11,800 per gram, according to the Dangerous Drugs Board estimate.

Also seized were four guns- 1 .45 caliber, 1 .40 caliber, 1 .38 caliber and 9mm machine pistol.

Derilo said they also arrested two alleged aides of Rapuela who were inside his makeshift store for shabu.

Derilo described Rapuela as a level one drug pusher who can dispose less than a kilo of shabu per week.

He said his men conducted four-month surveillance on Rapuela before they applied for and were granted search warrant by Judge Wilfredo Navarro of Regional Trial Court branch 19.
