FORMER Maguindanao Governor Andal Ampatuan Sr., principal accused in the Maguindanao massacre, has three to six months to live, a medical certificate submitted before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court stated.

“Prognosis is currently dim as pharmacological intervention is limited. Expected life expectancy for such case is three to six months but may be shorter if the liver function will continuously and progressively deteriorate,” the certificate, which was submitted by his lawyer Salvador Panelo stated.

The Ampatuan patriarch, according to the certificate, is still at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI).

“He is currently being managed as a case of advanced liver cancer with signs of decompensation,” the certificate further stated.

However, the certificate was not notarized, but it was signed by Dr. Jade Jamias, Ampatuan’s physician.

Andal Sr. was taken to the NKTI on June 5 due to complications in his liver. Further tests confirmed that he is suffering from liver cancer.

His detained sons Andal Jr. and Zaldy and grandson Anwar Sajid also filed motions to allow them to visit their father.
