Tornado hurts 1, destroys 28 houses in Zamboanga City
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A powerful tornado hit Barangay (village) Taluksangay here at 7 p.m. Wednesday, wounding one person, destroying at least 28 houses and sweeping away three small bancas.
Lilibeth Nuno Veloso, a village councilor of Taluksangay, said 48 families evacuated their homes and the local government has been attending to them since.

Engineer Rommel Allan Labayog of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology unit in Zamboanga, said a tornado on water hit Taluksangay.
Veloso said villagers scampered for safety when the twister hit the coastal area of the barangay.
