Indian slain, gunman nabbed in Las Piñas

An Indian citizen was shot and killed in Las Piñas City on Wednesday, with the police arresting the suspected gunman shortly after the attack.

The victim was identified as Pavittar Lai of Bernabe Subdivision in neighboring Parañaque City. Around 10:30 a.m., policemen patrolling Barangay Manuyo Dos, Las Piñas, responded to gunshots heard coming from Joshua Street.

They found the fallen victim and spotted the suspect fleeing on foot still holding a gun, according to Chief Insp. Gene Licud of the Las Piñas police.

The suspect was later tracked down with the help of village watchmen in Barangay Pulanglupa Dos and was identified as Tito Navigar, 43. A .38-cal. revolver was recovered from Navigar, whose motive for the killing remained under investigation.
