“Alam nyo yung mga ganyan there would be a proper time to answer that, proper time to make announcements kasi sa totoo lang ang hirap-hirap talagang maka-focus sa ganyang tanong or sa ganyang plano sa dami ng mga tinatapos but I have to be candid na marami na rin ang nagtatanong so ang sinasagot ko lang ay kinukunsulta ko pa yung mga dapat konsultahin like family and close friends and siyempre, may tamang panahon din na pag-uusapan ng seryoso yan with the President,” de Lima told reporters Monday.

(There is a proper time to answer things like that, the proper time to make announcement because the truth is it’s really hard to focus on those questions or plans with everything that needs to be finished. But I have to be candid, there have been a lot of questions about it. My only answer is that I’m still consulting with people I need to consult with like family and close friends and of course there will be a right time to have a serious discussion about it with the President.)

She also reiterated that there is still no formal offer from the Liberal Party.

But for now, de Lima said her focus is her duties as Justice Secretary.

In a Pulse Asia survey conducted in September last year, de Lima was among other personalities with a chance of winning a senatorial post if elections were held  in that period.

In that survey, de Lima got a 35.3 percent rating, landing her in the 11th to 15th place.
