Rainy Monday school opening seen – Pagasa

THE state weather bureau on Sunday advised the public to bring umbrellas and raincoats as rain showers due to thunderstorm are expected in some parts of the country during the school opening on Monday.

In a special weather outlook for “Balik-Eskwela” (back to school) released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services (Pagasa), isolated rain showers or thunderstorms were forecast mostly in the afternoon or evening of June 1 in major cities across the archipelago.

Meanwhile, Pagasa issued a thunderstorm advisory No. 4 on Sunday afternoon, which is seen to be affecting the provinces of Batangas, Quezon, Bataan, Tarlac and Cavite in the next two hours.

The weather bureau also advised the parents to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flashfloods when accompanying their children to and from the schools. John Lester Alos, trainee
