In-laws tag Japanese man in wife, son’s slay
A Japanese man is facing investigation for the violent death of his wife and 13-year-old son at the family’s Parañaque City residence early Wednesday.
The in-laws of Yoshihiko Ura tagged him in the attack that killed their daughter Raquel, 43, and their grandson Kenji Alexis Ura, an incoming Grade 8 student at Colegio San Agustin. They were all living in the same house at Bayview Garden Homes in Barangay (village) Tambo.
The victims’ bodies were found by Raquel’s mother, Concordia Martin, inside the Ura couple’s bedroom around 5:30 a.m.
Raquel had ligature marks in her neck while the boy showed no visible signs of injury.
Concordia then saw a bleeding Ura in the bedroom toilet, his neck pierced with a Swiss knife.
Rescuers brought Ura to San Juan de Dios Hospital in Pasay City, where he remained at press time.
Investigators have yet to establish what led to the killing, but Raquel’s father, Nicasio, pointed to Ura as the assailant, describing him as an alcoholic. Ura is reportedly a manager in a company that exports wood products.
Senior Supt. Ariel Andrade, the city’s chief of police, said they are considering Ura a possible suspect pending a full investigation.–Kristine Felisse Mangunay and Celine Palenzuela
