Cops, LTO tracing driver in fatal QC hit-and-run

Authorities are tracking down the driver of a vehicle that hit a motorcycle and killed its female rider and injured her male companion in Sikatuna Village, Quezon City, shortly before midnight Thursday.

Irene Sola, 48, and Paul John Alix, 53, both residents of Barangay UP Campus, were on a motorbike passing through Maginhawa Street when it was hit from behind by a Mitsubishi Adventure wagon near the corner of Makadiyos Street.

The two victims were brought to East Avenue Medical Center, where Sola, the bike passenger, was pronounced dead due to severe injuries at 12:07 a.m. Alix remained confined at the hospital as of Friday.

According to Supt. Ely Pintang, chief of the Quezon City Police District’s traffic enforcement unit, a witness was able to get the plate number of the Adventure (AAQ 2107), which drove off after the incident.
