Tropical Storm ‘Noul’ moves closer to PH

Tropical Storm “Noul” accelerated on Wednesday afternoon as it moved closer to the Philippine area of responsibility.

Noul moved west northwest at 13 kilometers per hour, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Wednesday.

The storm was last observed 1,210 kilometers east of Surigao del Norte with maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 130 kph.

It is expected to enter the area of Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday. It will be locally named “Dodong.”

The entire archipelago will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the east to northeast will prevail over the eastern section of Visayas and of Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough, Pagasa said.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southeast and northeast with slight to moderate seas.
