Light to moderate rains are expected in parts of Visayas and Mindanao due to a low pressure area (LPA) near Surigao del Norte, the state weather bureau said.

Eastern Visayas, Davao Region, Caraga and Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The LPA was last seen 750 kilometers east of Surigao del Norte. The state weather bureau earlier said it has a slim chance of intensifying into a cyclone.

The easterlies, or warm winds from the east, are affecting the eastern section of the country.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, Pagasa said.

The highest temperature in Metro Manila on Monday was at 35.2 degrees Celsius at 4:10 p.m.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. IDL
