SINGAPORE — They are just four to six years old, but have already entered the Singapore Book of Records. Some 500 children set a local record on Friday for the “Largest Logo Made Of Egg Cartons.”

The children painted 290 recycled egg trays in class, and used these to form the 5m-by-5m red and white SG50 logo. The pupils are from two PAP Community Foundation (PCF) Sparkletots Preschool centres in Nee Soon GRC.

Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim and Mr Patrick Tay, MPs for Nee Soon GRC, also joined the event and added final touches to complete the logo.

The event aimed to involve pre-schoolers in the SG50 celebrations, while educating them about recycling, ahead of Earth Day on Apr 22.
