Editha Panaligan Lagarile, 61, a former freelance journalist, is in need of intensive physical therapy for three months. She is from Malibay, Pasay City.

Lagarile suffered a severe stroke in 2008 which paralyzed the left side of her body and left her wheelchair-bound.

On May 16, 2010, she had an accidental fall while undergoing physical therapy, which resulted in a pelvic fracture. It was only on Jan. 21, 2013, that she successfully underwent total hip replacement surgery with the help of a charity medical mission.

After the surgery, she resumed the physical therapy sessions but they were interrupted twice when she again had a fall.

She needs to continue with her intensive physical therapy program for three months, including occupational and speech therapy at two sessions a week. Her therapy at San Juan de Dios Hospital in Pasay costs her P24,000 a month.

Lagarile is appealing to kindhearted donors for financial assistance, both for the sessions and prescription medicines. Donations may be coursed through her BPI account 7386172654. She may be contacted at 0919-8674867. Santiago Alcantara
