Today, March 31, is the 46th death anniversary of National Artist for Painting Carlos “Botong” Francisco. Born on Nov. 4, 1914, Francisco was one of the most distinguished muralists of the country for nearly three decades. He died in 1969 and was posthumously conferred the title of national artist in 1973. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
