Chief Inspector William Willie, Tuba police chief, told dzIQ Radyo Inquirer 990 that the bus went off the road after its driver avoided another vehicle in Sitio Umesbeg, Taloy Sur village in Tuba, Benguet, on the approach to the city.

Citing the account of the bus conductor (ticket seller), the driver of the bus (with body number 7044) was blinded by the lights of an oncoming truck, prompting him to swerve to the right and into the ravine.

The passengers were treated at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for minor injuries, Willie said.
