A Korean businessman was killed while his Filipino driver was wounded after two men on a motorcycle fired upon their vehicle in San Juan City at around 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

Senior Supt. Rainier Espina, San Juan police chief, told the Inquirer that Mark Anthony Casayuran was about to park in front of a coffee shop on Connecticut Street when two men on a motorcycle sidled up to Hyung Hur’s black Ford Expedition and opened fire on the victims’ vehicle.

Hur, a 59-year-old businessman engaged in the mining industry, died on the spot while Casayuran was wounded.

Case investigator PO3 Arnulfo Ardales said that one of the gunmen wore a motorcycle helmet while the other did not. Both were carrying .45-caliber firearms.

An initial police investigation showed the two gunmen started tailing the businessman’s vehicle as soon as he left his house on Eisenhower Street in Barangay Greenhills.

Probers said they were exploring the possibility that the killing was work-related.
