BOSTON—Yet another winter storm is heading toward the northeastern New England states, promising snow and heavy winds to a region already staggered by repeated blows.

A blizzard warning is in effect for coastal areas from Connecticut to Maine starting Saturday afternoon. It will be the fourth major storm the region has seen in less than a month.

The National Weather Service says about a foot (30 centimeters) of snow could fall in Boston and two feet (60 centimeters) is possible in parts of Maine. Wind gusts of 60 mph (96 kph) or more and blowing snow promise to make travel dangerous, if not impossible, at times.

Officials also warned that power outages are possible because of the high winds.

Some areas have already gotten 6 feet (1.8 meters) or more of snow.
