CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – Anti-narcotics agents arrested six persons and seized P684,000 in shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in separate raids in the cities of Valencia in Bukidnon and Iligan in Lanao del Norte, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s regional office in Northern Mindanao said Wednesday.

Roberto Opena, PDEA regional director, said the first raid, which was conducted in Valencia City on September 26, yielded 60 grams of shabu, estimated to be worth P600,000. Monaraga Madali, her live-in partner Naeim Yusop and his brother Kairama Yusop were arrested in the raid, he said.

Opena said that on September 27, PDEA agents also conducted a buy-bust operation in Iligan City and arrested Lucita Alperito and her daughter, Jennifer.

He said recovered from the suspected pushers’ possession were plastic sachets containing shabu valued at P84,000.

Anisah Macadato, the suspected supplier of the Alperitos, was subsequently arrested.

Opena said the suspects have been charged with violation of the Anti-Drugs Act and remained in police custody.
