MANILA, Philippines – An official of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) on Wednesday said that LRT is experiencing “a technical problem on the production” of stored value tickets.

“We have a technical problem on production that’s why we are producing lower than the daily demand,” LRT spokesman Hernando Cabrera told INQUIRER.net in a text message.

The LRT official, however, said the management has been resolving the problem.

“We hope to resolve the problem this week so that we will have sufficient supply by next week,” he said.

On Wednesday, commuters of elevated railway complained that LRT was no longer selling stored value tickets.

Cabrera clarified that commuters could still avail themselves of the stored value until supply lasts.

LRT is one of the three elevated railways in Metro Manila, which has drawn sharp criticisms from its riders due to the long queues on its stations and several operational glitches.
