Bomb scare hits DOJ compound

MANILA, Philippines–Three hours after a bomb scare hit the Department of Justice (DOJ), authorities looking for explosives found nothing, and the employees were finally allowed to go back to work.
Members of the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Organized and Transnational Crime Division and the Manila Police District’s Explosive Ordnance Division responded to the call. They were supported by the Presidential Security Group which sent four bomb-sniffing dogs.
Employees were ordered to vacate the building at around 10 a.m.
Officials and security personnel were still mum on the details of the threat although some say the threat was received by the Office of the Secretary.
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima is in Malacañang Wednesday.
