Pag-Ibig, Globe Asiatique urged to settle

By

A lawmaker wants the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), popularly known as Pag-Ibig Fund,  and troubled housing developer Globe Asiatique (GA) to settle their legal dispute out of court in order to spare legitimate buyers in the latter’s Pampanga housing project from further grief.

Pampanga Representative Carmelo Lazatin said the legal battle between Pag-Ibig and Globe Asiatique has left homeowners in the Xevera projects worried about their titles and the maintenance of their properties.

Lazatin said the two parties should come up with a “win-win” solution to their differences because the case could drag on for years and leave innocent Xevera buyers in limbo.

Pag-Ibig has filed a criminal complaint before the Department of Justice against Globe Asiatique owner Delfin Lee, who has countered by filing a civil case for specific performance and damages in Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 58.

Lazatin suggested that Pag-Ibig allow Globe Asiatique to perform its obligations under its agreement in order to facilitate the updating of the borrowers’ accounts and replace the buyers who had abandoned their housing units.

Out of court settlements dont apply to criminal cases, dear. And the legislative branch has no business making foolish suggestions to the judiciary branch.

Conman Lazatin I have one question: Magkano?

btw, whatever happened to the syndicated estafa case?

no can do. 7 billion pesos loaned thru wholesale fraud. Its not legally possible. Those responsible should be jailed. Estafa case should not be converted into loan or a mere civil obligation. It would be just like rewarding a crook for returning only part of his loot.

Ang win-win situation na sinasabi nung congressman is the best for the gov’t.

Win-win situation is not bad. Lalo na kung beneficial naman sa gobyero…
