PDEA operatives intercept P1.5M worth ‘ecstasy’ in Parañaque

MANILA, Philippines—Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated “ecstasy” tablets worth P1.5 million in Parañaque City.

In a statement, PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac said the drug, also known as methylenedioxymethamphetamine, was intercepted at a post office in Parañaque City on Thursday.

He added that the drug reportedly came from the Netherlands and was placed inside 1,010 pieces of tablets.

Combined elements from PDEA Regional Office 3 under Director Jeoffrey Tacio and PDEA Regional Office-National Capital Region Airport Interdiction Unit under Jacquelyn de Guzman, Bureau of Corrections and the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group intercepted the package in a small rectangular paper box at the Philpost Central Office.

A certain J. Vermolen sent the package with address at Watergraasmeerstraat 35 2131DB Hoofddrop, Netherlands, to a certain Martin Sean Duenas of BF Homes, Parañaque City.

“Prior to the discovery, we have been building up this case for the past three days and learned that an ecstasy parcel is due for transport into the country through the post. PDEA RO3 operatives were able to extract the parcel’s tracking number that led to the determination of its location and time of delivery,” Cacdac said.
