Cubao streets closed for DongYan’s ‘Royal Wedding’

MANILA, Philippines–Four streets around the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City, will be closed to the public Tuesday afternoon for the “Royal Wedding” of show biz couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said it would close the entire stretch of Vancouver Street, from E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue to Boston Street; the stretch of Boston from the corner of Aurora Boulevard to Lantana; Rosario Drive from E. Rodriguez Avenue to Lantana; and the whole stretch of Seattle Street from Vancouver to Aurora Boulevard.

According to the security plans of the QCPD’s Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU), the streets will be open only to the wedding’s VIP guests, including President Aquino.

Supt. Ely Pintang, the QCPD-TEU head, said the streets would be closed from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with about 60 traffic officers and civilian deputies being tapped to direct the flow of vehicles in the area.

The celebrity bride and groom are coming to the cathedral from Solaire Resort in Parañaque City and will have their reception at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.–Jaymee Gamil
