2 killed, 1 missing in Queenie’s fury

MANILA, Philippines – Two people were killed and one was missing in Central Visayas in the onslaught of Tropical Depression Queenie, culled reports said Thursday.

A certain Alona Baldado in Cebu was swept by rampaging flood waters in Malabuyuc, Joy Fernandez of Office of Civil Defense in Central Visayas told media on Thursday.

A fisherman from Oslob, identified as Feliciano Looc, has been declared missing since Wednesday.

“Nangunguha ng isda tapos malaki yung alon and until now missing pa rin pero ongoing ang search and rescue mission,” Fernandez said.

Families in parts of Sibunga and Oslob and in Tayasan, Negros Oriental have also been evacuated.

Fernandez said that there are about 10,000 passengers who were left stranded in Cebu due to Queenie.

A separate report from Bohol provincial police said a certain Rosito Cavas, a fisherman from Aguining village, was killed at the height of the Queenie’s rage.
