Bongbong Marcos denies mom Imelda’s office was raided

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. dismissed as “malicious” on Thursday the reported raid at his mother’s office at the House of Representatives supposedly to confiscate her art collection, saying their doors are open and “all you have to do is walk in.”
“Hindi ko malaman kung saan galing ‘yung report na ‘yun. Wala namang nangyaring ganun. Wala namang pumunta du’n. Wala namang nag-request na ganun, walang nag-raid, walang humingi ng permiso kay Speaker (Feliciano Belmonte). So I don’t know where that report [came] from but there’s no such thing,” Marcos said in an interview over DWIZ.
(I do not know where that report came from. No such thing happened. No one went there. No one requested for access, no one raided, and no one asked for the Speaker’s permission. So I don’t know where that report [came] from but there’s no such thing.)
He also said there was no need to conduct a raid in any offices of his family, like the office of his mother, former First Lady and now Ilocos Representative Imelda Marcos, at the House and even their offices at the province since they are open to public anyway.
“Ang opisina ng isang congressman nakabukas ang pinto n’yan kahit sino pwedeng pumasok. Hindi na kailangang mag raid-raid. All you have to do is walk in. We keep our doors open because our people have to come in and be able to talk to us,” the senator said.
(A congressman’s office is always office so anyone can come in. There is no need for a raid. All you have to do is walk in. We keep our doors open because our people have to come in and be able to talk to us.)
He then described the report as a “little malicious.”
