Healthy Options pulls out peanut butter brand

arrowhead mills peanut butterMANILA, Philippines—The Food and Drug Administration announced Friday that food distributor OneStop Distribution Inc. and Healthy Options Corp. have voluntarily recalled specific batches of Arrowhead Mills peanut butter due to potential salmonella contamination.

In an advisory, the FDA identified the affected products as Arrowhead Mills Creamy Organic Peanut Butter (16 oz) with product code AM47052, unit bar code 074333470328 and expiry dates Feb. 4, 2015, Dec. 31, 2014 and May 14, 2015; and Arrowhead Mills Crunchy Organic Peanut Butter (16oz) with product code AM47032, unit bar code 074333470526 and expiry dates Dec. 31, 2014 and May 14, 2015.

“In its notification to FDA, OneStop Distribution Inc. has ordered the stores of Healthy Options Corp. to recall the products under the identified product code and discontinue selling these to consumers,” said FDA officer in charge Nicolas Lutero III.

“The recall involves only the specified batch under the mentioned product codes and no other Arrowhead Mills peanut butter variants and sizes are affected,” he added.

The official also advised consumers who have purchased the affected products to contact the distributor at 527-5555 local 4757.
