3,000 troops secure 104 Pampanga cemeteries
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Philippines—The 104 public and private cemeteries in Pampanga province have been secured by 939 policemen, 1,323 village security men, 383 security guards and 281 volunteers since Oct. 30, police said.
Senior Supt. Rodolfo Recomono Jr., Pampanga police director, said traffic rerouting plans and community watch had also been put in place for the convenience and safety of residents.
Halloween costumes
For the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx), Manila North Tollways Corp. (MNTC) has fielded ambulant tellers to the toll plazas in Balintawak, Mindanao Avenue and Dau and to the Bocaue toll plaza from Nov. 1 to 3.
Tellers in tollbooths would be wearing Halloween costumes to help lighten up the mood of motorists.

More security personnel
Spare lanes have also been opened and additional traffic management and security personnel have been deployed.
In an advisory, MNTC said it would suspend road repairs until Nov. 3 to ease traffic.
The NLEx’s motorist assistance program, “Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko,” would provide free first-aid treatment and basic mechanic services until Sunday (Nov. 2) at nine gasoline stations along the expressway.
Toll
At the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx), the collection of toll has been advanced at the Mabalacat entry for vehicles bound for La Paz town, Tarlac province.
Makeshift lanes have been set up at the San Miguel and Tarlac exits.
Additional tollbooths have been put up in plazas for Manila-bound vehicles.
Road repairs on SCTEx would be suspended until
Nov. 3 while two motorist assistance camps would be available on Km 76 at the Pitabunan overpass in Dinalupihan rest bay area and at Km 21 toward Subic.
Neighborhood patrols
In the Cordillera region, Chief Supt. Isagani Nerez, regional police director, has assigned police teams to patrol the neighborhoods when families visit the cemeteries today.
