Moviegoers to pay P1 more for ticket

MANILA, Philippines—Moviegoers in Quezon City will have to pay P1 more for a ticket as the city government has approved the increase to be donated to the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines and the Philippine Red Cross.

Mayor Herbert Bautista, chair of the BSP Quezon City Council, signed three ordinances imposing the increase for a month for each organization.

Councilor Godofredo Liban II introduced the ordinance increasing the admission fee for January 2015 to benefit the BSP.

He said the group needed the assistance for its various programs and projects geared toward the moral, spiritual and physical well-being and civic consciousness of the youth.

Councilor Dorothy Delarmente, on the other hand, authored the ordinance donating the increase in February 2015 to the GSP for the same reason.

Councilor Franz Pumaren proposed the donation to Red Cross to be used for disaster relief operation and humanitarian services in Quezon City.
