The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) was formally established as a permanent sports association on Sept. 27, 1938. The first UAAP members are National University, University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University. As of the latest season, eight member universities compete in three divisions (Seniors, Juniors and Women) in 14 sports events. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
