MANILA, Philippines—The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has started its own investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Zenaida Sison, mother of actress Cherry Pie Picache.

Picache on Thursday went to the NBI and executed her statement before the NBI’s Death Investigation Unit (NBI-DIU) which, according to its chief Atty. Joel Tovera, will serve as a formal complaint.

“Maraming, maraming salamat sa lahat ng dasal at lahat ng suportang pinakita ng maraming, maraming tao, lalo sa kasamahan ko sa industriya. Please keep on praying justice will be served,” she said.

The NBI has already taken the statement of possible witnesses including a couple, who were initially invited by police for questioning but eventually released.

After Picache executed her statement before the NBI investigators, the agents proceeded to the residence of the victim in the afternoon

The NBI already asked Barangay (village) Paligsahan a copy of the closed-circuit television footage of the area.

The mother of actress Cherry Pie Picache was found dead on the second floor of her house in Quezon City on Friday night.
