Businesswoman stabbed dead in Mandaluyong home

MANILA, Philippines—A businesswoman was found dead inside her own house in Mandaluyong City Thursday dawn, Radyo Inquirer 990AM reported.

The report said unidentified men broke into the businesswoman’s townhouse at Barangay (village) Addition Hills at about 4 a.m.

It said the victim was identified as Maria Luisa Ramirez, who was found dead by her husband in a pool of her own blood.

Rodel Ramirez, the victim’s husband, said he went out of their house to get the car he would use in going to the grocery when he heard a loud scream.

He decided to go back to the house and found her wife stabbed dead.

The husband said he heard the sound of a speeding motorcycle after the incident.

Police recovered an ice pick in a manhole near their house but have not established the motive of the killing as an investigation is still ongoing.
