House suspends work

MANILA,, Philippines—The House of Representatives suspended its budget deliberations on Friday due to heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm “Mario.”

The chamber’s public relations and information bureau said Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. ordered the suspension of the budget deliberations scheduled in the plenary also this Friday.‎

Belmonte also ordered suspension of work in the lower chamber.
The chamber is targeting to approve on second reading the proposed P2.6 trillion national budget for 2015 by September 26, before going on break. It targets to approve the budget on third reading by end of October.  ‎
