Biyo said those who would qualify as scholars may enroll in any state university, college and higher education institution identified as Centers of Excellence by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), as well as in DOST-SEI institutions.

The scholars may enroll in the University of the Philippines, University of the East, Ateneo de Manila University, Ateneo de Davao, De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas, Mapua Institute of Technology, Don Bosco Technical College, Siliman University, Mariano Marcos State University and St. Louis University.

The scholarship examinations will be on Sept. 21.

The deadline for applications was initially set on Aug. 22 but Biyo said it was moved to Aug. 29 to allow more graduating high-school students to avail themselves of the program.

A DOST-SEI scholar is entitled to free tuition at P10,000 per semester or P8,000 per trimester; P10,000 in annual book allowance; a P500 uniform allowance, and monthly living allowances from P2,000 to P5,000.

Aspiring scholars may download the application form from www.sei.
