Honasan, 100 other lawmakers under special audit—COA exec

MANILA, Philippines–A witness for the prosecution on Friday mentioned that there are about 100 lawmakers that have been subject to a special audit including one current and three former senators.

During Friday’s bail hearing on the petition of businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles, Commission on Audit Assistant Commissioner Susan Garcia said Senator Gregorio Honasan and former Senators Edgardo Angara, Miguel Zubiri and Richard Gordon are among the 100 lawmakers that they have subjected to a special audit. No further details were given by the witness.

A special audit, Garcia explained, is an assessment based on a report by an auditor for a more comprehensive analysis.

Garcia will continue her testimony on Aug. 15.
