AIESEC Alumni gather for first National Congress

MANILA, Philippines – AIESEC is an international non-profit organization that provides young people with leadership opportunities to develop themselves into global leaders with an urge to make a difference in society. AIESEC in the Philippines is currently present in eight schools nationwide and establishing chapters in eight more.

Founded in 1968, AIESEC in the Philippines has been an integral factor in developing thousands of students who now occupy positions of leadership in the public and private sector. Rolando Gosiengfiao, one of the first AIESEC Presidents in the Philippines and currently Chairman of the Bases Conversion Development Authority, was instrumental in reconnecting AIESEC Alumni from different batches and universities through social and professional gatherings such as monthly meet-ups, forums (add comma) and seminars.

On August 1 and 2, AIESEC Alumni from all generations gather to rekindle friendships and unite to serve as a catalyst for change and progress in their respective sectors. The theme of the First AIESEC Alumni National Congress is “Ready to Serve”, which embodies the ideals on the international organization founded 70 years ago. The congress will gather AIESEC Alumni from the 46 years of AIESEC Philippines existence for two days of camaraderie, networking, and discussions.

FEATURED STORIES

The AIESEC Alumni Golf Tournament will be held on August 1 at the Ayala Greenfield Country Club, with golfers from the various member universities competing for the first AIESEC Alumni Golf Cup. Prominent golfer and AIESEC Phes founding member Iggy Clavecilla will lead the ceremonial tee-off.

The Awarding Ceremonies will coincide with the Young Alumnite gathering wherein AIESECers from the early and later generations get together to network and reconnect. AIESEC alumni from the entertainment industry will be invited to grace and host the event.

The conference proper will commence on August 2 starting 8 a.m. at the SEDA Hotel, Bonifacio Global City. Prominent AIESEC alumni have been invited to share their insights on breakthrough leadership. Hans Sicat, AIESEC UP ’78 and President of the Philippine Stock Exchange, will deliver the Keynote Address. This will be followed by a Luncheon Panel to be composed of Vince Perez, AIESEC National President ’79-’80 and former Energy Secretary Mike Oyson,  AIESEC UP ’87 and President of BPI Securities, Diday Zamora-Riingen, AIESEC UP ’81 and Senior Vice-President, The Western Union Company, Philippines and Indochina and Dondi Alikpala, AIESEC UP VPM ’84-’85 and Chief of Party USAID Be Secure Project.

The panel will be moderated by Tony Abad, AIESEC ADMU President ’85-’86 and CEO of TA Trade Advisory Group and Partner, AAA Law.

The organizational discussions on structure and policies of the AIESEC Philippines Alumni Association, induction of the AIESEC Philippines Alumni Board of Directors by Gavin Ng, AIESEC Singapore President ‘86-’87 and current President of the AIESEC Alumni Asia-Pacific will be conducted in the afternoon.

The event will be capped off by another night of reminiscing shared experiences with AIESEC‘s Grand Alumni Homecoming Night with Jonvic Remulla, AIESEC UP President ’91 and Governor of Cavite, will be delivering the welcome address.

Registration Fee is 2500php for the Golf Tournament inclusive of Young Alumnite, 1500php for the Young Alumnite, 2500php for the Grand Alumni Homecoming, OR 5000php for the National Conference Proper, which includes all events without the Golf Tournament and 6500php for the entire conference, inclusive of all events.
