Mystery man falls to death after scaling LRT drain pipe

MANILA, Philippines–A man died shortly after noon on Monday after he scaled a drain pipe at the Anonas station of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 2 in Quezon City and then jumped, landing on a passing passenger jeepney.

The still unidentified victim who suffered severe injuries to his face and arm was brought to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center where he died at 2:40 p.m. His body remains in the hospital morgue.

The victim was described as between 15 and 20 years old, around 5’6” to 5’7” in height, of medium build and with fair complexion. He was dressed in a red shirt and black cargo pants.

Witnesses said they saw the man climb the drain pipe of the LRT station on Aurora Boulevard at 12:30 p.m. When he was 25 to 30 feet off the ground, he jumped and landed on the roof of a jeepney, according to a police report.–Jaymee T. Gamil
