The four policemen were believed to be missing after about 60 NPA members onboard a truck raided Alegria police station.

“We are still looking for four more policemen,” said Chief Superintendent Dominador Aquino, director of Caraga regional police.

The policemen who were on patrol were believed to be waylaid by the communist rebels during the attack.

Aquino refused to name the policemen, however.

The rebels also took away the policemen’s belongings when they stormed the police station.

“The money of one of our policewomen was also taken away worth P50,000. It was sent by her husband abroad,” Aquino said.

The incident has also caused traffic as authorities cleared the roads from explosives set up by the rebels.
