Lacson on Santiago: ‘In all sincerity, I’ll pray for her recovery’

MANILA, Philippines—Former senator and now rehabilitation czar Panfilo Lacson said he is now “setting aside for good” whatever animosities he had with cancer-stricken Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago.

“In spite of our recent personal and political differences, I wish Senator Santiago well,” Lacson told INQUIRER.net in a text message on Wednesday.

“I will henceforth pray for her recovery. I say it in all sincerity.”

” I am setting aside for good whatever animosities have been brought about by our exchange of harsh words,” Lacson said.

The former senator issued the statements when sought to comment on Santiago’s disclosure that she has lung cancer.

Santiago and Lacson have openly attacked each other, even calling each other names.
