MANILA, Philippines – Filipinos don’t believe there is less corruption or poverty in the past three years under the administration of President Benigno Aquino III, according to a nationwide survey by Ibon Foundation.

When respondents were asked “Is there less corruption in the country in the past three (3) years?” three out of five (64.9 percent) said that they did not agree, according to the survey results published Friday.

On poverty, eight out of 10 (77.4 percent) did not agree with the question “Is there less poverty in the country in the past three (3)years?”

“Only 14.8 percent said yes,” Ibon said.

Asked how they looked at their situation today, 67.0 percent of respondents, or 7 out of 10 said they saw their family as poor.

Ibon conducted the nationwide survey from April 24 to 30 with 1,500 respondents from 18 years old and above.

“The survey used a multi-stage probability sampling scheme and has a margin of error of plus or minus three percent. The April 2014 round was a non-commissioned survey conducted across various sectors in 16 regions,” Ibon said.
