MANILA, Philippines – Senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada was relieved after no warrant of arrest was issued against him Friday afternoon.

In radio interviews, Estrada laughed when told that Revilla was planning to count lizards while in detention in Camp Crame, the national headquarters of the Philippine National Police over the weekend.

He joked about how he counted rats when he was previously detained at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center with his father, then President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.

“But I hope there won’t be any cockroaches,” he joked.

Estrada said he would be okay as long as he would be able to bring his iPad with him while in detention.

“I’m fine if I get to bring my iPad. There are games there to keep me busy,” he said.

Estrada also said he would request to have his mobile phone with him, saying in a separate radio interview that “It will be hard to be detached from the family. If there is an emergency I would not know about it.”

“It’s a major necessity to have a cellphone while in detention,” he said.

The Sandiganbayan Fifth Division did not issue the warrant of arrest before the closing hour of 4:30 p.m. Friday, which means it will have to be issued the following week.

“We will wait and see on Monday morning [if] the warrant is issued, lets see where they will take us,” Estrada said.

In a separate radio interview, Estrada said that he would spend more time with his family over the weekend.

When asked about Revilla staying over the weekend in detention, Estrada said “He should not be hasty, we will see each other anyway.”
