PNP escorts told to prepare for Napoles transfer

MANILA, Philippines—As the Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) orders the immediate transfer of Janet Lim-Napoles, police prepare on Thursday the security forces escorting the detained businesswoman back to her detention cell in Laguna.

Chief Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, Philippine National Police Public Information Office (PNP PIO), told INQUIRER.net over the phone that about100 policemen were deployed at Ospital ng Makati (OsMak).

Around 3 p.m., Sindac said ‎the court order has been officially transmitted to and received by Calabarzon police regional director Chief Superintendent Jesus Gatchalian.

Earlier Thursday, the Makati RTC Branch 150 ordered Gatchalian and his deputies to escort Napoles back to her Fort Sto. Domingo detention cell in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The alleged pork barrel mastermind’s security escort will be composed of personnel from PNP Special Action Forces (SAF), Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB, Highway Patrol Group (HPG) and PNP Health Service.

As for the exact time of Napoles’ movement out of OsMak, Sindac declined to divulge the time “for security purposes.”

As of posting time, ‎the security forces and PNP ambulance are on standby at OsMak.
