MANILA, Philippines—While Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said on Tuesday that Janet Lim-Napoles could become a state witness if the investigation on her affidavit proved it would be plausible, a militant coalition quashed this idea on Wednesday.

Bayan Muna Representative Neri Colmenares said that Napoles becoming a state witness is a “clear travesty of justice.”

“Napoles is one of the main culprits in the pork barrel scam and this would be a clear travesty of justice,” said Colmenares whose group, Bayan Muna, is under the Makabayan Coalition bloc. “Napoles should be punished because of her crimes against the people.”
