Most of the suspects were detained for possession of illegal drugs, while others were arrested for various petty cases, mostly theft, malicious mischief and violation of city ordinances.

Despite the capture of the escapees, the QCPD Station-5 chief, Superintendent Edgardo Pamittan, was still relieved of his post.

Chief Supt. George Regis, QCPD director head, replaced Pamittan with Superintendent Froilan Uy through General Order No. 67, pending an investigation of Pamittan.
